Paypal and IPN Print

  • 2

If you've received an email from Paypal that looks like the following it means that at one time you had IPN set up at Paypal. Setting IPN at Paypal requires a script and a special URL to that script ( not just your site address ) and this IS NOT used by the regular MM system or Cs-cart so it needs to be removed.

The directions on resetting the IPN to completely remove anything that may be *stuck* ( if you're not seeing an address in the field ) are listed below

Hello XX ( Site Owner ) ,

Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:
If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.

To clear the IPN at Paypal do the following

For the IPN reset, please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your PayPal account
  2. Click Profile > My Selling Tools
  3. Click to UPDATE "Instant payment notifications" ( under Getting paid and managing my risk )
  4. Click Choose IPN Settings
